Sponsor: Eric Gdowski, egdowski@d211.org Special Olympics participates in 4 sports throughout the school year. Unified Soccer in the fally, Basketball and snowshoeing in the winter, and track and field in the spring. Practices are typically between 5:00 - 6:30 p.m., 1 to 2 times a week. Parents can drop off and pick-up their students at Door 10 (athletic doors). Althletes should wear athletic clothing and gym shoes, as they will be exercising. Athletes can compete in one sport or all 4 sports offered. Every sport concludes with a state competition for the Gold medal winners! Special Olympics and Hoffman cover the cost for housing, meals, and transportation. |
